To better support the employment choices of international students in China and assist Chinese enterprises in implementing the "Go Global" strategy, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) has been actively expanding opportunities for international students to visit and learn about Chinese enterprises. Recently, a group of over 20 international students from ECUST visited Dingdong Maicai, a leading online fresh grocery retail platform in China that is dedicated to accelerating production through technology.
The students first visited the Gu Zhan Road front warehouse, which is a critical link in Dingdong Maicai's "29-minute delivery" promise. They toured various sections, including the fresh produce area, refrigerated section, dry goods section, and operations area. The wide variety of goods, neatly organized displays, and the well-coordinated operations left a strong impression on the students.

Following the warehouse visit, the students went to Dingdong's headquarters, where they gained in-depth insights into the company’s development history and operational model.

In 2024, Dingdong Maicai actively responded to China’s Belt and Road Initiative by planning the establishment of a fresh grocery retail platform, Keenmart, in Saudi Arabia. Can Dingdong Maicai's successful experiences in China be replicated in the Saudi market? The international students showed great interest in their business plans and engaged in lively discussions.

This field visit not only allowed the students to experience the pragmatism, ambition, enthusiasm, and efficiency of Chinese enterprises but also gave them a clearer vision of what "studying in China" entails. At the same time, it provided Chinese enterprises with valuable insights into the cultural customs and consumption habits of target markets, enhancing their confidence in expanding overseas.
