The discipline of Chemical Engineering and Technology is a national key discipline and a top priority discipline in Shanghai. The discipline boasts of state key labs of chemical engineering and bioreactor engineering, a national research center of engineering and technology for salt lake resources, a national research center of ultrafine powder engineering, a national research center of biochemical engineering and technology, and a ministry of education key lab for advanced materials, a ministry of education research center of resource (salt lake) process engineering, a ministry of education large scale industrial bioreactor engineering center, etc. In 2008, the program was elected as the 985 Project Innovation Platform for “clean and efficient utilization of coal and key petroleum engineering technology.”
The discipline is aimed at fostering students’ ability in keeping abreast of the advancements in chemical and physical processes in all types of processing industries(chemical industry in particular), in meeting the modern chemical industry’s needs for top chemical engineering talents; the graduates are expected to possess the fundamental theories and systematic professional knowledge, the spirit of innovation and team work, and the ability to excel at development, education, and management in the modern chemical industries and some other related fields.
The program duration for master students is 3 years, with a maximum of 5 years. The course credits are valid for 5 years since the enrollment.

Midterm Evaluation (3rd Semester)Complete all required course credits prior to the evaluation.

Submit two literature reviews and pass experimental skill tests.Defend a thesis proposal, including a literature review and research plan.

PublicationComply with the requirements set by the Academic Degree Committee.

Thesis & DefenseWrite and defend a thesis (Chinese or English accepted). The thesis must demonstrate research competence and adhere to intellectual property regulations.

Degree AwardDegree approval follows China's Interim Degree Regulations and the guidelines set by ECUST.
- 1 . Proof of English proficiency with a minimum TOEFL score of 80, IELTS score of 6.0, or Duolingo score of 105, or evidence of prior education in English.
- 2 . Applicants without language scores may submit provisional applications and must provide proof of Chinese proficiency to receive the final admission offer.
- 3 . Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or higher academic qualifications.
- 4 . No criminal record and in good physical and mental health.
- 5 . Must be 18 years of age or older.

Step 4: Submit all your application documents to the dispatching authorities before the deadline and download the application form.
Type B: High-level Postgraduate Program / Belt and Road Program, etc.
