On April 26, Timur Gafurov, a student from the School of Chemical Engineering at ECUST, achieved an impressive second-place finish in the 7km group of the 2025 Yipao Forest Trail Race. 

Known as Shanghai’s only urban light trail running event, the Yipao Forest Trail Half Marathon has been held for a decade. The event, part of the 3rd Yangtze River Delta Youth Forest Sports Carnival, was held in Shanghai’s Gongqing Forest Park, attracting runners from diverse regions and countries.

Timur, who trained under the guidance of fellow ECUST student Anna Kuzmina from School of Business, showcased both athletic skill and determination in the race. 

The competition, themed "Spring", combined sports, family activities, and cultural experiences. ECUST celebrates Timur’s achievement, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering well-rounded talent in academics, sports, and cross-cultural engagement.
